Hello parents.

1. There is practice all week. The coaches understand that swimmers have appointments and family engagements, please attend practice when you have the time including on meet days! The sun is draining, and the coaches always ask the swimmers get out of the heat by 2 or 3 PM on the days of swim meets.

2. For home meets, please plan on arriving between 5:15-5:30 PM. Bring all food items up to the concessions. If you plan on dropping off items early, please get them to the guard office. Parents, please note the tight parking situation and try to carpool or get dropped off. The meet usually ends around 8:30 PM.

3. When the swimmers arrive, each swimmer should check in with the coaches sitting at the guard table. The coaches will use a Sharpie to write on the hand of the swimmer the events the swimmer is in for this meet. During the meet, we will have volunteers and coaches get the swimmers to the proper lane. The swimmers will be called in advance to come to the seating area. The swimmer / relay team gets an event card (which they should not lose!). The event cards help the swimmers and timers with directions regarding lane assignments. Once the swimmers are together, they are sent up to the deck. Some swimmers will start from the starting blocks and some from the shallow end. It is critical that swimmers stay with their teammates. I cannot stress enough how most of the events are relays and four (4) swimmers are needed.

4. For the individual freestyle events, there will be alternate heats.

5. For all parents with young swimmers or those swimming for the 1^st time, it is helpful if the swimmer stays near you for guidance. There are bright pink numbers down under the 1^st tent that help swimmers know which events are lining up to swim.

6. The concession stand will be open and it looks like dinner tomorrow night will be hamburgers or grilled hot dog. We will also be selling temporary tattoos. Again, all money goes towards a team party and gift.

7. There are a few more slots to be filled regarding concessions and running the meet. Volunteers for the swim meet will be called at 6:15 for a meeting with the meet referee. Lane parents and swimmer line up volunteers can check in with me at 6 PM. All volunteers earn a guest pass and we welcome volunteers who need service hours.

8. The baby pool is closed. And parents are also asked to stay off the pool deck unless they are working the meet. The benches in the shallow end are used to line up swimmers. Parents are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

9. Please be gracious with our guests, as this 1^st meet is with a team that did not swim last year.

10. I am sure that I forgot something, so just ask when you get to the meet.
